The Farmington Municipal Schools Learning Initiative intends to provide Apple MacBooks for all district middle school students. This Mexico school has rolled out 2,375 Apple MacBooks to students and teachers. The school insisted that parents and students needs to attend an mandatory orientation on the use and care of the laptops.

"Apple MacBooks come with pre-installed filters to keep kids safe from hateful, racist, discriminatory, and other offensive content - courtesy of Farmington Municipal Schools. Every MacBook is also equipped with a StopTheft tag and an electronic tracking system. And, of course, students are asked to bring their MacBooks to school "fully charged every day," because printed editions of their textbooks will be eventually replaced with online editions."
